Capital Campaign

Our vision is a community where everyone has access to nutritious food, life skills education, organizations that provide assistance, and wellness tools for improved quality of rural life. We remain devoted to our mission of caring for hunger, education, and wellness in our rural communities in partnership with our schools, organizations, churches, businesses, and caring individuals. Our new resource hub will allow us to further this mission.

The Gathering Source is more than a food pantry.
We are investing in the future of our rural communities.

Our History

2010  Began with a simple mission of delivering food to neighbors in need. (Five households)

2013  Realized a greater need and opened the doors to The Gathering Source Food Pantry at 209 S Main St in Reeseville WI.

2016  After a meeting with Dodgeland Schools, realized there are children who depend on the school as their main source of food.  In partnership with Dodgeland, we launched the weekend meal pack program.  This is a program to provide nutritious meals to children who rely on school for their food.

2016  In partnership with Dodgeland Schools, launched the school supply-filled backpack program so that all children have the supplies they need to succeed in school.

Our Current Impact

  • 1 out of 10 households seeks the assistance of our food pantry each month. That is 300 individuals each month, half of which are children and seniors!
  • 1 out of 5 schoolchildren receives a weekend meal pack of nutritious food because school is their main source of food. That is 150 meal packs each weekend!
  • 1 out of 10 schoolchildren receives a school-supply-filled backpack so they have the tools they need to succeed in school. That is 102 backpacks!

But we still have more to do!

  • 4 out of 10 households in our rural communities do not make enough money for basic living needs. Families may face a choice between paying rent and utilities or buying food.
  • 1 out of 2 children in our elementary schools receives free and reduced lunch because their household income level is below the poverty limit.
  • 1 out of 5 households reports a need for money management education.

Our Goals

  • An expanded food pantry with a variety of fresh produce and healthy food choices as well as  personal hygiene items
  • A registration office affording privacy to our guests as they share their information with us
  • Guest office to house other community services, such as FoodShare, Aging Disability and Resource Center (ADRC), Workforce Development, and Forward Services

  • A multipurpose area for community activities and education.
